The Second Coming?

6 12 2007

As the Washington Post notes, Madame Inevitable gave NPR listeners a little insight in how deeply involved she was in advising her husband during their time in the Oval Office at the NPR Iowa debate on Tuesday night. She also implied that Bill will probably play the same advisory role for her as she did for him. That’s gotta be exciting for the Comeback Kid.

But what’s really interesting is how confident or presumptions or eager (take your pick), Madame Inevitable was about winning it all. Apparently, she will bring about the second Clinton administration, which is not to be confused with the second term of the Clinton administration.

MODERATOR: Just a quick follow: When you traveled to China and then when you returned to the White House, did you advise your husband on Chinese foreign policy or on foreign policy in regard to any other countries that you traveled to?

And, conversely, if you were elected president, would he advise you?

CLINTON: Well, I certainly did. I not only advised, I often met with he and his advisers, both in preparation for, during and after. I traveled with representatives from the Security Council, the State Department, occasionally the Defense Department and even the CIA.

CLINTON: So I was deeply involved in being part of the Clinton team, in the first Clinton administration.

And I am someone who wants the best possible advice from as many different sources as possible. And that would certainly include my husband.
